I'm getting ready to buy a large compact flash card (8 GB). There are a lot of brands and some are a lot more inexpensive than others. Are some brands better than others? Is there a good place to find honest reviews of the different brands? What factors should I take into account? I want to use it for high-end digital photography (Canon Digital Rebel SLR) and also mobile digital audio recording for a podcast.

Many electronic items come out of the same factory. The name is changed with some cosmetic decoration so it looks different from the others. For the most part, the quality of these products are the same. However, some manufacturers use "factory second" parts. These parts are of inferior quality and will typically not last as long as the better quality ones. Go with a well recognized brand name that can be purchased almost anywhere. You will have better chance of getting some support if something happens.
