Best Camera for the money?

I love taking pictures, but my camera broke so I need a new one. My husband and his family are planning to join and buy me a good camera between them. My price range is up to $600 dlls, no more. I want a Digital SLR Camera, with great resolution and lens quality. No less than 8 mega pixels, and with reasonable zoom.

Brands? Types? Reviews?

Thank you

p.s. If you can give me links too it would be appreciated!

You can go to Amazon.com and read a lot of customer reviews about digital slrs. I read reviews before making purchases.

The pixel counting marketing folks seem to have gotten to you.

While there may be some benefit to a little higher pixel count, the size of the sensor itself is much more important.

That said, look for the camera system that best suits the subjects you shoot and have the best array of new and used lenses.

Here is a good, solid, entry level DSLR that will the entree into one of the best and the largest camera systems at this time. With the money saved buying this camera, you can buy a second lens.
