What’s the best Nikon Digital SLR camera?

I’m trying to find a good Digital SLR camera, and I finally decided to get A Nikon rather than a Canon. I’m deciding whether I should get the Nikon D300 or D3100. Which one is overall the best? Or are there any other ones? Thanks:)

Can a 35-80mm lens from a non digital slr canon eos3000 be used on digital canon slr cameras?

For instance the canon eos 1100d digital slr?
Thanks
I think all of the EOS cameras use the EF mount, so you should be able to use the 35-80mm on a digital SLR.
You wouldn’t be able to use lenses from an EOS digital SLR on an EOS film SLR, though… they are EF-S lenses and have an [...]

If your film camera is early 80’s or before then no. These cameras used FD or FL lenses that push into place and are locked by a rotating ring. These do not fit a digital SLR without an adaptor which, to be honest, is a total expensive waste of time.
If your film camera [...]

Canon digital SLR camera you reccommend?

I really love the quality of Canon and they’re ‘professional’ cameras. Anyone know the best camera for someone that’s comfortable with different options and is in the intermediate level of photography?
The "intermediate" Canon dSLR would be the Canon 60D.
There is an other maker of "professional" cameras and its "intermediate" camera is the D7000
Here is how [...]
